Art in all forms, has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. Growing up, I remember playing school with my little sister. She wrote the stories and I did the illustrations. Great memories! I took every art class available in High School and later studied art in college. I took classes involving choir, instruments, charcoal, pencil, ink, ceramics and painting. Shortly after graduating from High School, I put everything aside to raise my beautiful family. Now my two kids have grown up and have left the nest leaving me feeling, "Now what do I do with all this time." So I picked up where I left off so long ago and began painting again. This is when I found my true passion....Watercolor. Trying to understand and grasp my style for great detail, which I found very easy to accomplish with ink and pencil sketches earlier in my career, watercolor painting was a new concept for me, but that didn't stop me from learning this style of art. It taught me to relax and not be intimidated, to explore and be creative. Being taught in school to "stay in the lines" didn't apply anymore. There were no rules. I suddenly learned and enjoyed the freedom involved with watercolor painting and was soon looking for anytime I could to escape to my studio and paint. My style is polished, disciplined and detailed with a splash of freedom. Painting allows me to share with you the things that I love most... being outdoors. I now appreciate light and color more. I see things, I never saw before. When I go for walks with my camera in hand, I'm eager to get back to my studio and begin painting. What an awesome experience painting has brought to my life. Thank you for allowing me to share my passion with you.
